We Love Julia

The world knows that Julia Mancuso accomplished great things at the 2010 Olympics. As one of our own....a Squaw Valley native....we are especially proud to acknowledge her in our community, not only for her athletic accomplishments but for her great sportsmanship and generous donation to the sports program of our local schools. At Chase International, we are about heart-centered business, and our agents are recognized for their generosity for… Continue

Squaw Valley/USA buys The Village!

Posted on January 31, 2010 at 4:24pm 0 Comments

Rumors have been rumbling for months, and last information sounded like all bets off. However, it was announced on Friday that Squaw Valley/USA has purchased The Village from Intrawest. This includes the commercial/retail promenade along with the lodging business for the condominium units above. The acquisition should enhance guest experience at the resort, which is enjoying booming ski days with around 18,000 season passes sold for 2009-2010.

Exciting event this week is the opening of the long-awaited Ritz Carlton high on the mountain at Northstar. A private opening will be held on Thursday with the first of public events scheduled to start on Friday, December 11. The Tahoe Sierra Board of Realtors annual installation dinner will be held that evening.

Having the opportunity for three tours during the construction phase, I can report that this facility is over the top! Two weeks ago, personnel from Ritz Carltons across the… Continue

Trinkie-- I know you specialize in a lot of second home buyers. There is good news on that front as well. Last year second home and vacation home purchasers made up 1/3 of all real estate purchases according to the National Association of Realtors. There is no change in sight so this should be a great indicator for the west shore of Lake Tahoe for 2008. Thanks Craig
